Navionics..... the LEADER in electronic charts!

In regards to fishing new lakes, I find it difficult to keep track of each lake's unique features without fumbling through stacks of old outdated paper maps. Luckily, I stumbled upon Navionics a few years ago through a family member. He and I exchanged their mapping chip in our GPS units on our boats for that year. I eventually bought my first GPS mapping software for my own GPS unit.  Each year the Navionics mapping became better and better. I now use the most current mapping software available, and it helps me to easily eliminate unproductive water in my quest for the elusive largemouth bass! I was given the opportunity to represent Navionics in a sponsorship program, and happily do so at this time. I believed in Navionics product long before given this opportunity, and back them 110%! If you have any questions, please email me and I will answer them as soon as I can. You can also click on the Picture and it will link you to Navionics Website.

If you dont have Navionics software in your GPS, you are missing another world under the water!

Dobyns Rods!!  .... when fishing is more than just a hobby!

For many years, I have used just about every bass rod the local stores carry on thier shelves. My favorite had been G Loomis, but as time wore on Shimano bought them out. The quality of rod blanks seemed to deteriorate, and left me to restart my search for the best rod out there. I heard of Dobyns rods thru my friends at Sure Life Labs, here in Texas. I tried out a couple rods from friends on the prostaff and fell in love with them. The rods have everything I feel is essential in productive tournament fishing. They have the lightness of a feather, the strength of steel, and the feeling of electricity running up my arm. I can literally feel every piece of structure my lure fishes through to help me determine what is down there. I believe every angler will be at an advantage if they fish with Dobyns Rods. I feel so strongly that these rods are the best out there, that I have applied and received a spot on the local prostaff team for Dobyns Rods. I look forward to many years and lots of productive days on the water with Dobyns Rods!!!!  Through Dobyns Rods, I also become associated with Tru-Tungsten, Xcite Baits, Tackle Warehouse, and Costa Del Mar eyewear.

Behind the scenes..... what keeps me going.

I want to give thanks to my beautiful wife, Carol, for giving me the encouragement and standing behind me in my tournament fishing. I can think of no other thing I love more than fishing, except for my wife. She has stood behind me from day one of our relationship, and even enjoys spending the day on the water with me. She comes from a smaller country town and understands my passion for competitive angling. She often tells me I have small fish swimming around inside my head... I just hope they never escape out my ears!(HaHa!) She and I were married December 9th, 2007. We have been through a lot of life's challenges since then, and still communicate without any disagreements.

On top of freshwater fishing, I enjoy offshore fishing as well. The excitement of 80 pound Yellowfin Tuna smoking your drags at 40 mph is quite the thrill. I have caught numerous tuna, grouper, amberjack, and snapper while offshore fishing. I may go once a year, as it is quite pricey per trip.

A little about myself:  I was born in 1973 in Ft Worth, TX. I have lived in the Dallas/Ft Worth area all my life with never any intentions of living anywhere else. I grew up in Weatherford, Texas on my parents 236 acre ranch. My parents took me fishing weekly during my early childhood. I have stories of playing in the livewell while they fished before I was able to hold a rod and reel. Once I turned 3 years old, dad put a rod in my hands and a crankbait to cast at schooling largemouth bass on Lake Benbrook, TX. My dad and I have countless hours of fishing time on several local lakes. He is the reason for the passion of my fishing. I was born into fishing. Growing up in the rural area gave me the chance at fishing many of the neighbors stock tanks. I fished several times a week all through life, and never have "fished enough". My first double digit bass came from a nieghbors stock tank at an early age of 15 years old. Later on, my parents parted ways and I stayed with my mother. We moved to Arlington, then Southlake Texas, where I went to high school. I never gave up fishing, and could always find a local pond to catch bass, or catfish out of.  After high school, I goofed off for a few years before going to college. A kid needs to be a kid after all....   Once I finally went to college at Brookhaven College, I graduated with my Associates Degree in Applied Science. I also received my General Motors trainings at the same time through thier Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP). I worked on automobiles for the next several years and decided I didnt enjoy the trade anymore. I was offered a position for my stepdad's company and took it. I am now a sales representative for his industrial sales company. We sell many products to the forest products industry and manufacturing industries. Our main line is roller chains for the conveyor type systems in those facilities. I enjoy what I do, and the downtime gives me ample time to prepare for upcoming bass tournaments.
